I Like You is a weekly podcast featuring stories of love, like, and the opposites of those things. A show about dating and relationships may sounds schmaltzy to you, but it’s not. It’s exceedingly unschmaltzy.
We (JP and Elah) try to answer questions like:
Is online dating actually set up to make people miserable?
What’s it like to date your high school teacher?
How do you know it’s over?
Huddled in Elah’s tiny apartment, we prod guests into sharing their most intimate stories over tea and cookies – and oddly – they usually do. The results are funny, sad, strange, uplifting, and occasionally traumatic.
To get started, here are a few of our favourite episodes:
#39: The Secret of My Success
Note: Mature content, usually.
JP’s parents are remarkably candid about what it takes to keep a marriage going for decades.
#21: Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
Note: Mature content, usually.
Sometimes JP and Elah just hang out and entertain each other. It’s not like anything you hear on the radio, probably for good reason, but we reckon you’ll have fun.
#57: Positive
Note: Mature content, usually.
Jessica’s boyfriend infected her with HIV. He said he was “clean” – but he probably lied about being tested. Weird thing is, having HIV has actually made Jessica’s life better in a lot of ways.
Be on the show!
Do you have a story that would fit with our show? Email us and we’ll consider it!
We’re also recruiting for a matchmaking experiment. Let us know if you’re single, living in the Toronto area, and wouldn’t mind being set up and recorded going on a date (just audio).
