#32: It’s Over [rerun]
Breakups. Sierra Bellows asks people in her town when they knew it was over. This is an all-time ILY favourite from the vault, mostly because it makes us cry. If you fail to cry, listen to Against All Odds, the Postal Service cover. The original by Phil Collins is also somewhat effective.
See the original episode post for music downloads and credits.

if the interruption of shallow physical contact with a human being makes you appreciate transitory nature of life and its inherent worthlessness then these are blessings. The reason you cry is because the gap separating someone’s true personality and the fantasy that’s in your head alone has been revealed and now you must kill yourself because someone’s repulsive dying body doesn’t want to slap against yours. Send this message to ten friends by midnight or a specter will chimp out on you while you sleep

cool soundtrack. really drove home the obnoxious theme and insufferable people. was it diegetic, ie. was it playing on the speakers of the starbucks where you interviewed people about which episode of dawson’s creek they were watching when they got a life-changing text
